That thing where you do what you're told and pick your battles.... ... but the battles you let go keep coming at you. Annoying.

I'd say that lots of people who *do* customer interviews haven't gotten to this tipping point yet either... too many closely directed, product centric questions, not enough encouragement to open up and tell stories of real experiences.

These taps won't switch on when I am trying to wash my hands but they sure love my cycling kit. Think I just learned something new about tap sensors.

The main stages of resistance to / adoption of new things: 1 Ignore it 2 Ridicule it and the horse it rode in on 3 Say yes, but do nothing at all differently 4 'Comply' (maliciously) 5 Openly attack it 6 Claim it as your own idea that you had ages ago and have always believed in

That sinking feeling when you realise you are probably going to have to break up with your favourite coffee shop. The coffee is still great but their attitude sucks.

totally. you can totally imagine the brief, the meetings in the lead up.... the absence of anyone who knows anything about survey design or user needs....

Omg. Surveys that assume I have the remotest bit of interest in the thing that whoever designed this survey clearly thinks is the centre of my universe.... don't do surveys like this.

I remember the first Sprint event I went to there was talk of users but no evidence of user research. So pleased that changed, and seems to have stayed changed. Well done.

Watching for whales. Optimistically early in the season but there are plenty of other optimists about.
