If you must. I consider McCarthy "interesting Faulkner."I mainly stuck to the short stories. Faulkner is a wonderful stylist. But he's often kind of a snooze for story.

It is very much a Southern novel in the Faulknerian tradition in that regard. And not without reason. I have already told people that I don’t feel that supernatural tug and the weight of folklore here like I did in Texas, etc. But it’s certainly there, as thick as peanut butter.

I managed to make it for Ft. Griffin (last scene) years ago. Almost nothing remains today. I was the only visitor. Kinda surprising, as it’s a hugely important place in Old West history, but it’s also miles out of the way.

I’ve heard a couple of people say that iPhone Ten S” is easier to say than “iPhone Ex S,” but conversations haven’t borne that out. In fact, I’ve noticed that people who try to say it “properly” often accidentally say “iPhone Ten X,” especially with “Max” attached.

The one that I was a part of stretched down to the Valley (from just west of Victoria). And culturally, we had very little to do with the people in the Valley, well over 100 miles away. It was bizarre. The last one--before the last gerrymander--made more sense.
