England’s culture of domesticity—sugar, tea, china, etc—was built on empire and slavery; that obscures this fundamental link by continuing to give pride of place to the statue of a slaver casts its whole curatorial approach into disrepute

I bloody hate mice & rats,so when we had a similar thing in our last flat, I instigated a 3-pronged strategy: - Them sonic mouse/rat repellent things - Steel wool in every little hole anywhere in flooring/walls - Peppermint oil on wool Worked. No idea which part of it worked tho!

I still hear people use the term “serious violence”. Does that mean we have less serious violence? All violence is serious. Whether through it’s impact on a person or the potential for it to shift to another form. Words often lead to use of weapons. 1/2

I know, and I really hope that's true. I've heard the same from various council folk, from Dukeminster, from LCA, and I've never felt reassured, cos there's never been any indication of what specifically is being done to prevent that. Hence need for full public info, in one place

Tad late for that now, Vincent, everyone knows Hackney Walk is a misguided, offensive, catastrophic failure. Main concern now is ensuring the 55 Morning Ln development isn't equally awful. For which we all need full info, openness, transparency, clarity.

Hackney Walk is the most dodgy regen project I know - whether or not there was any actual corruption, there was oodles of dodgy decision-making, as evident from its abject failure. If the 55 Morning Ln is at all similar, that seems dodgy. Why replicate disaster?

Have you see the youth resource young members of our Movement have produced for youth workers? Their hope is that as many youth workers as possible can see this so as many young people as possible can benefit from it! 👇👇

"These officers opted to give ‘no comment’ interviews, and the IOPC said that there was not enough evidence to say it was discrimination. If the complaints system can’t join the dots in an experience like ours then that system also needs to change."

Vincent, your defensive & sarcastic tone isn't exactly building our confidence that the council is committed to ensuring that this site is developed in an open & transparent manner, or to taking seriously & responding fully & respectfully to the local community's concerns.
