This is why I think the OFL is a good idea. Instead of “stealing” outlines, people could be open about the fact that what they made is a fork of a previous design. We don't need people wasting time starting 1000s of typefaces from scratch every year.

Work in progress. „engineer“ is a role for authorization, it’s a shortcut so I could develop another part of the software first. This reminds me that I still have to implement it.

It’s hard to put a starting point on it. For me it’s rather Hendrix/LED Zeppelin etc. but they were inspired themselves by the stuff they listened to … Classical Music is also an inspiration for a lot of Heavy Metal.

It doesn’t work that way! If you prepare for rain it doesn’t rain at all, that’s the rule. Rather, dress like a Pirate, it helps against global warming and other disasters.

We can get started there, and fork it if we disagree :-D Seriously, I like the idea of starting it like a software project. But what's the License!!!

1/4 It's just a vague idea, it would maybe involve a bureau or some other "interface" offering services like concepts, (typographic) design/layout, type design, type production, tooling etc. using and creating (when feasible) FLOSS. I like the inspiration from the organization

I basically ported the Python ufoLib, and added support for async code execution and an io abstraction. It can read and write UFOs. However, ufoLib changed a little bit since then, I should port those changes. How is your approach ahead?
