So Oracle executed another death by open source and laid off the entire Mission Control Team. 10 years of advanced tech know-how down the drain. The good part is that I temporarily have a housewife with full pay who can stay at home with two sick kids today.

The culling process once a year is called "combing the hair". It's tasteless to the extreme.

Thx for sharing this. It's important to see some of the real world effects of a seemingly good PR news like open sourcing a project.

I honestly fail to understand their business model. So far, every action they took basically looked like slapping themselves in the mouth 🤔

Perhaps you are better than realtime whiteboard coding than me. I’ve had two Google interviews and because of this lack of skill, they consider me worthless and unemployable.

My compiler skills don’t matter if I can’t write an algorithm to find line bisections in a plane in 10 minutes, apparently. Best of luck.

It's worth a try. They hired me. They hired Rick Hudson. We're both kinda puzzled about that.

It's a concern. However, some of the best people I have ever worked with are still there and they handle it well. Lots of love and tech savvy there.

We've got a real need for some senior Java folks working on a lot of stuff, great with distributed/remote teams; have her send a message my way and I'll put her in to the right peeps internally? shirleman@tenable.com
