On National Signing Day, a little-known 39-year-old former NFL secondary coach upstaged Justin Fields, Ryan Day and two Michigan defectors, thanks to a 14-minute tour de force news conference featuring a blend of charisma and no-nonsense straight talk.

A bad week for Ohio State got worse Sunday, capping a four-day stretch that included a home loss to Illinois, dropping OSU two games below .500 in the Big Ten and setting in motion an uphill climb to college basketball’s holy month of March.

Looked like Ohio State had grand opportunity to take control, with Nick Ward injured and Xavier Tillman on the bench with four fouls. Instead, Kaleb Wesson hasn't exactly played well. 13-4 Michigan State run has OSU in major hole with time running out.

So many opportunities for Ohio State. Buckeyes just 4-16 in the second half. Feels like it's starting to slip away. Breslin Center just waiting to erupt.

Ohio State went more than four minutes without scoring, which coincided with an 8-0 MSU run. Buckeyes answered with consecutive baskets to lead 24-23. MSU is Big Ten's top offensive rebounding team. Only three so far. And Buckeyes only have three turnovers, a huge improvement.
