I’ve read this a dozen times. Politico went to Pennsylvania to talk with Trump voters. Here's what one husband and wife said about the NFL.

So in fact it is a racial issue after all. Nothing about the flag and disrespect for the anthem, just racial hatred coming to the forefront. I can't stand these people who think this way. I abhor this line of thinking!

Ignorance, fear, hatred, followed by laziness - too lazy to step away from their TV sets and live in the real world. Pathetic but this is what many Trump supporters are.

The problem is, as time goes by, and less is said from our elected officials about the importance of equal rights, it silently gives validation to racism, misogyny, homophobia, discrimination and other forms of hate that we cannot tolerate.

There is no way you can wrap your head to make this ok - these people and those like them, are not nice people.
