I think their recommendation is that we automate the low skilled jobs, in which case the question is can robots do waitressing? Last time I checked NO 🤷‍♀️

I agree 100%. I would even go as far as giving a Labour Party split after the next election some small odds if Starmer not the next leader.

I think you are right. The trend towards (mild) nationalism is with us for a while. Labour should be bolder with spending plans. Don’t think ‘how we will pay for it’ is a concern on the doorstep post austerity

This paper is fascinating. The authors argue the discontinuity is *not* because women purposefully earn less than their husbands. Instead, co-working spouses are disproportionately likely to be paid the exact same salary.

Perhaps. But he has also spoken about workplace democracy and co-ops in the context of bringing power back to the people. Btw Tories are moving left re their spending announcements.
