BUT if they are forcing her to mandatory mail order she WILL have to get new prescriptions. I have not found a mail order pharmacy yet that will transfer and Rx (even with refills) from a retail pharmacy.

Thank you for your reply. Please see my comment. This system is broken and presents a hardship/medical risk to patients based on financial interest of your business not patients. Moral inversion. Patients need easy access to affordable meds-not a gatekeeper to an obstacle course.

This is very inconvenient, convoluted, and delays access to much needed meds. We will see how much time is spent on customer service, and if we have to revisit our doctor’s office. She should have access to pharmacy of her choice, better yet, physician dispense. This system is broke.

Just saw this from another poster. Caused me to go on a cost hunt. Have your daughter check cost through Good Rx. She’d have to pay cash, but the cost I just found was $25 vs. $245 through Caremark mail for my prescription. Worth exploring?

No. But I never call in Rxes. I always give them directly to clients so that they have control, can compare costs, change at their will. Clients must not be captives of the SWAMP!

Switch Insurance, switch networks- that includes pharmacies. Pushing script transfer onto the patient & their doctor is yet another example of abuse. Actual protocol is for receiving pharmacy (at patient consent) to transfer existing Rx/refills from existing.
