"Imagine a “giant flying murder head” about 3.5 times the length of its body, or “a pair of wings that carry around a big head for guzzling things”" A giant flying murder head is my favourite dinosaur description EVER.

Yes! I always remind myself of that one. It's so sensible - and so freeing.

A little ego can be helpful - I think there always has to be a smidge there if we think others are going to want to read our writing. Of course, too much isn't any good either!

I love this. Sometimes I forget that the first draft is just for me, and get all caught up in wanting it to be perfect first time. It's not so much fun then. How about you, lovely writers? Do you write for yourself or others first? Let me know below!

I know if I start forcing the scenes it's just not going to work. It might work later, but there's no point continuing if there's no flow. So ... something new then? Why not!

The SO left for work on Monday, and before he went he ordered a load of wood. Oh, I won't use it, I said. Not just for me. Well. Anyway.

Grey skies and full rivers around here at the mo. Also damp walks, but after getting sick AGAIN and spending all Wednesday on the sofa, it was worth it. How's your week been, lovely people? Let me know below!

Ooh, aniseed and orange sounds good! I don't drink juice much, but I like that combo.

Ginger biscuits do seem to be a classic for dunking. And from the ones I've had, I'd say biscotti can only really be consumed after dunking...
