What finally convinces me to dig into Notion: needing to inventory everything I own, then remembering a bunch of that data is already on a packing checklist, then thinking...hey! isn't that a thing Notion can do, let you create a database, and use its data in many places? πŸ€”

Yep! That's the one. It pre-fills the Issue Title field with the string in Frontmatter's Title. Which can be changed, as needed.

For the writing I do, I often feel torn between: * using "conversational" words * writing a dry how-to I find that choosing to avoid words that predict a reader's experience eventually becomes easier. It doesn't affect the conversational tone, if that's what one intends :-)
