NOTABLE: Around the day TRUMP was reportedly telling BOLTON to contact ZELENSKY about meeting with RUDY to discuss investigations intended partly to undermine the MUELLER probe, @RudyGiuliani was talking to lawyers for PAUL MANAFORT about the same subject. nytimes.com/2020/01/31/us/…

NEW FROM @MAGGIENYT & @NYTMIKE: In a May WH meeting, TRUMP asked @AmbJohnBOLTON to call @ZELENSKYYua to ensure he'd meet with @RudyGiuliani during his planned trip to Kyiv to push investigations into the BIDENS, etc.
Also in the mtg: MULVANEY, CIPOLLONE. nytimes.com/2020/01/31/us/…

This is big for 2 reasons:
1) TRUMP asking BOLTON to help RUDY in early May is the earliest known instance of @POTUS enlisting the US government in the pressure campaign.
2) CIPOLLONE was present at the inception of the campaign he is now defending. nytimes.com/2020/01/31/us/…

.@RudyGiuliani denies that he was ever in a meeting where Ukraine was discussed with PAT CIPOLLONE, MICK MULVANEY & JOHN BOLTON.
That would breach atty-client privilege, he says, disputing the account of the mtg, which comes from @AmbJohnBolton's book. nytimes.com/2020/01/31/us/…

I just asked RUDY if BOLTON made up the mtg:
“I think he’s making some of it up. He’s sure making up — I wouldn’t call it making it up, but he’s acting like a real scumbag by never telling me that he objected once, & then saying I was a time bomb, or a firecracker or something."

.@RudyGiuliani says he was not in WH mtg with BOLTON.
But he doesn't rule out TRUMP asking BOLTON to call ZELENSKY:
“I don’t recall — although this one is more I don’t recall —the president ever asking him to call Zelensky. I have no recollection of him saying ‘call Zelensky.’”

There are legal consequences to BOLTON's claim he discussed Ukraine in a mtg with TRUMP, RUDY, MULVANEY & CIPOLLONE.
It could breach Trump-Giuliani atty-client privilege, meaning @RudyGiuliani could be compelled to reveal details.

If Bolton shares all of this in his book it might be a bombshell. This is the just the tip of a corrupt iceberg.

It would be worth getting more details about the ask, given the provisions of the Hatch Act.
