but wherever you are will probably be too loud to really hear the commentary no matter what language it’s in

oh, i think you might need an illegal stream for english comms - at least i don’t know anywhere that shows matches in english - but i’ve only been here two days and am clueless about everything here

i'm on the fontanka right now. elaborate bagel and tea cost like 300 rubles. which i've started to think of as quite a lot of money although it's actually a little over €4

in a hipster coffee place in saint petersburg. exposed lightbulbs, antique wooden dressers, rickety reclaimed wooden furniture. they just told me they're out of coffee

Not sure if it's some sort of cry for help, but Spain appear to be passing themselves a picture of Vicente del Bosque's face

i guess i agree with that. if they must change it i’d prefer reduction to the expansion that is going to happen. ppl have made the point in replies that there will be more knockout games and there will be more at stake in the two group matches. so ok, maybe there are positives

hey justin i read your world cup book years ago, i wouldn’t have thought you would be in favour of further sponsor-driven expansion?

both iceland and mexico would have qualified for this even if it was 24 teams - argentina might have struggled so you seem to have got that the wrong way around

that’s five games for each team just to get to the last 16

uruguay-saudi arabia - what a waste of time. i feel bad for the city of rostov. the 48 team world cup is such a fucking awful idea. they should be cutting it down not making it even bigger and more stupid
