Paprium looks technically advanced enough to warrant the large custom cart and colors and design exactly my flavour. Getting hyped for what the final sound design will be like.

I question if this game will even run. These pics look too good to me. I would think it needs to be downgraded more to run in the genesis.

The same genesis that run Virtua Racing.. this game is possible imo but I think it will use a custom cart to produce such sprites as did VR.

It was supposed to be on a close to 90 meg cart, if I remember right. Sounds and music will use a lot of that.

I don't think there's anything really unusual about those sprites. The genesis can handle big sprites fine. Even better than the SNES, because it has more fillrate.

My biggest concerns are with fullscreen transparencies. Apparently they managed to do it. Apart from that, the video shows little action, it's more like the characters pose, roll, bend down, but there's little of the "fist hell" one would expect.

What are you referring to? The transparent green guy? Turns out he wasn't transparent, just a result of the video compression.

u can't see it in these screenshots, but in the 2017 trailer and in the vid shared on FB yday. When a char takes a drug -called blu, the bckground turns blue, but we still see details. It's as if some1 applied a layer in Pshop, filled it with blue color, and applied Multiply mode

hard to tell exactly from the clip, but it looks like maybe it's faking the trasnparency by only drawing every other line of the foreground part

Perhaps they have all the palette variations pre-calculated, and make a quick swap, without touching the sprite palette.
