Thanks for the fascinating explanatory thread, but one big question is left unanswered: how much fiddling with colors and parameters did it take to make your UMAP look like a toucan? ;)

Hey Seattleites, today I'm hosting Melissa Ilardo for the first seminar of the decade! Come to Foege auditorium at 3:30 PM for a deep dive into genetic adaptations in southeast Asian sea Nomad populations

Thanks so much to and for naming me "Sustained Research Parasite" of the year! I've never received an award with such an awesome title before and I'm sure it'll make a great conversation piece for grad student admit interviews :)

Umm isn't "sign" completely determined by one's birthday, meaning that DZ and MZ twins have the same probability of identical astrological predictions? ;)

Our first foray into ecological genetics of Caenorhabditis on the Hawaiian Islands just out. I think we are just scratching the surface of what we can do with these sampling projects. We continue to sample, so please let us know what you think.

I am so excited this work is finally out on . David Willemsen's heroic work in my lab shows how demographic constraints affect the accumulation of several deleterious gene variants in natural populations of the short-lived turquoise .

Whirlwind few weeks visiting collaborators in Brazil, one of the best conferences I’ve been to at ASU (thanks ) & crashing lab dinner in Seattle. Excited to see what cool science the lab has done without me to bother them
