BC Transportation Minister acknowledges BC Ferries is an "independent" company that makes call on where ferries are built. Can still be built off-shore, although encouraged to build in BC. Not quite the never-build-a-BCFerry-anywhere-except BC policy the party had in Opp.

Comes same day BC NDP govt. expands BC Ferry sailings. Awkward.

NEB found Salish Sea is "already highly disturbed" and "already detrimental" to marine species, even without TM-related marine traffic.

The NEB also found pipeline-related marine shipping is likely to have "significantly adverse environmental effects" on southern resident killer whales and GHG emissions from project would be "significant." But project is justified because of measures to minimize effects.

Contemplating Lepkin on twitter... it would require you and to manage, I think.

Exactly! (I wonder if @FredLepkin is even on Twitter? Doesn’t seem like it; he’s on Facebook though).

True. There is some duplicity attached to someone, somewhere in this strange story.

The great irony, of course, is that there are no term limits for the job he can always go back to: a tenured university professor! His bill will not be called for debate anyways so it’s a dead letter. Interesting idea though.

I think Keith is right. I remember those days as I worked as a ministerial staffer under both leaders, and then advised next two. This is nowhere near that. Not even close. The Prime Minister has more caucus support & a larger grassroots base than critics give him credit for.

Tougher questions indeed. But the hype about the teams is a bit much. And there are less questions than a regular show because of all the extra frills.

Something tells me is more excited by this shout-out than even the provincial budget! (Doesn’t quite the shout-out I got from though!)
