Let’s get Ciaran to Berklee Nov 12
My Autistic son Ciaran wrote a piece for Scope about his experiences. The bullying was never dealt with, his school’s answer was to place him in the music department to escape!

Totally agreed. Having Aspergers syndrome, growing up bullies were unavoidable sadly 😕 However with the right support from parents/family, teachers/school & possibly 3rd party sources everything can get better and great things can occur ☺️

Autistic children are high value targets for bullies: they can be easy to wind up, the results are dramatic and often, because bullying can trigger a meltdown, the victim ends up getting the blame. Parents and schools MUST educate children about neurodiversity.

Getting into Under the Dome is like drinking cheap sparkling wine - at first, you feel ashamed and incredulous, but after a certain point you don’t know what you’re doing and there are four empty bottles on the floor

Here's the biggest thing holding games discourse back, and it's something that happens as much in the mainstream media as in gamer spaces: an inability to divorce criticism of a particular game or game-adjacent thing from criticism of video games in their entirety. (wee thread)
