RT if you and your family wouldn't be here, building businesses, charities and the NHS, contributing to British politics, art and sport, if the UK had had this suggested in the 20th Century. Maybe can start.

I work on human genetics and am honorary professor at the UCL Genetics Institute. I’m the editor-in chief of a journal which used to be called Annals of Eugenics. I just wanted to say that we now know from the latest research that eugenics simply would not work. 1/n

TLDR: People who support eugenics initiatives are evil racists. Also, modern genetic research shows that eugenics would not work. 19/end

Arts bodies threatened with funding cuts over lack of diversity The pace of change needs to accelerate across larger NPOs to appoint more Black, Disabled & Female leaders and staff and increase equity. Hit targets or risk losing funding

Totally agree with the reflections in the panel discussion today - if we want more diverse representation in leadership then the arts & cultural sector needs to be open to redefining what leadership means

this is thoughtful stuff. At we do a lot of thinking about why music works. It leaps over fear and isolation, it seeps into the cracks language leaves. It doesn't have to sing about hope it just is hope. And we keep learning. Do take a look and listen and support us

Will do! Following in the footsteps of foot messengers who delivered news /goods /gossip across cities. James has already performed a piece in fact, glorious garb and all (and was poster boy for our last event)

👏🏻 for bold moves to promote slow travel. Yes we should run from city to city too, also in homage to the Pheidippides who ran from Marathon-Athens. James Steventon ultrarunner+artist+Director of might run Aberdeen-Manchester!

We will continue to tell the story of the humanity (on the whole!) shown to Huguenot refugees when they came to their neighbour seeking sanctuary and to celebrate the European ancestry of so many English people today. No doubt it will be a topic of conversation among our visitors
