I recently finished a project that examined the linguistic characteristics of academic shame that I presented at CogSci. Sounds like this would be a great outlet!

The influence of climate on sound. Russian reflects cold environment:high intrathoracic Pr to limit venous return, then adrenergic surge to maintain perfusion Pr& heat. Then progressively less thoracic w/ Polish, German, French(nasal flow for rapid decompression) to avoid heat.

Indian as European descendants in hot/humid climate. Avoiding chest compression seems to be necessary during conversation: very fricative as in Sanskrit. No swearing, too hot. Guess Sound of ‘mobile’ is quite different in Alabama compared to New England, reflecting decompression.
