No. Everything Russia and Sweden could take out of Finland was taken over the years. Everything that we made up to September 1952 was given to Soviet Union for the war they started. When my father was born, his brother wondered where did their mother get so much good leather.

I consider there are many countries who failed to benefit, and lost 10 % or 30 % of their population (like Finland in 1865, ~1700) in famines induced partially by the colonialist approach of surrounding countries.

That is not the history of all European people. Not all European countries joined the ideology of being conquerors and settlers. About 10-15 European countries had colonies and about 8-10 of them abused the colonies. There are about 50 countries in Europe.

Colleague was visiting USA from Switzerland. He ended paying half the cost from out of pocket, $1800 for a box of ibuprofen worth of $3.

Emergency appendix removal surgery in Switzerland with a week in hospital, $3200 before insurance. Emergency 15 minute visit due to common cold in the USA, colleague got prescribed ibuprofen, $3600 before insurance.
