is this in a <expr> mapping? Can't answer the question without seeing the exact code you wrote.

that reminds me :) I've been meaning to put a sort of curated GUIs page on neovim.io . And a different page for a feature showcase.

UIs for #neovim are just plugins. So when people say "there are too many UIs", this is like saying "I'm worried that there are too many Vim plugins".
Don't worry.

Indeed. UIs for Nvim are just plugins. So people should not get anxious about an abundance of UIs, just like they don't worry about the abundance of Vim plugins in the world.

Not sure. That list is more like a reference, not a marketing page or landing page. It's just a place where a full list can be found.

those are negatives, what about positives?
anyways. Nvim clients are like websites: easy to make, some of them will be good, some not. It is low-cost to make one, and it's ok if it doesn't work out.
also since when are ligatures a deal-breaker? :p

super happy to hear that.
re getting the PRs merged: any human-attention is appreciated. code review is a huge time sink ;_;

understood. fwiw, depending on what "0.5-dev" you have, the segfaults may be fixed if you update. 0.5-dev is, after all, the unstable branch.

January ? is #neovim anniversary. Someone on /r/vim dug up an early discussion:

> I think if people actually start using the fork, it will be hard to ignore it. The "only" thing stopping that is having ready-made builds.

Some say capitalism = rat race. Yet also say we need a wealth tax, to make sure the rats can never rest.
But rest/idleness begets reflection/technology. Imagine if the status-quo champions had decided that agrarian tech was good enough.

Absolutely. Eventually :)
The tools are there (in #neovim 0.5), but still some work to do to reach an out-of-the-box experience.
Also besides color schemes, one can create AST-based text objects. So for example, [[ will work perfectly in every TS language.

vim and nvim are different. plugins also sometimes do different (somethings wrong) things depending on environment checks.
As always, the way to narrow down the problem is to bisect your vimrc, as well as profiling: vimcasts.org/episodes/profi…
Or just use vim, that's fine too.

1.6s is a big deal in vim-land :) Nvim starts in milliseconds for me.
