Joan is hard at work sproosing up chairs for our 2020 libraries. We have our first 2,000 books and 100s of files. And so it starts again. If is something you’d like the sound of give is a shout.

Lisa explained: “With the help of my colleagues we loaded the 100s of books into the work van and on Friday I drove them over to the charity’s warehouse to donate them. Lenka then showed me the container, with over 40,000 books ready to ship to Kenya in the next few weeks.”

I woke up bright and early. Actually for a morning sleeper it was middle of the night. It’s Monday 3rd of June - the D-day for our 4th library. And I worried about the weather. Thank needn’t have.

It’s half 10 the night before I shipment and I’m full of nervous energy. I keep getting small electric shocks from just about everything and although I know those two things are not related it just feels like it. 🤪

This time on Monday it will all be over. For another year that is. Volunteers are preparing for the heavy task of loading our 4th destined for Shimba Hills . If you are coming to land a hand I’ll see you on the 3rd.

Attending a book signing last night. Mo the writer is giving the proceeds from the kindle downloads to us. Yey. How generous is that.

The incredible downpours in Kenya are making anyone wanting to use our libraries having to wade through the deepest of puddles, but they are certainly not dampening our spirits about the upcoming library in Shimba Hills.
