No, "capable" is not the right word. Depression stops that for many people. And most do not have a therapist. Sharing phone numbers may help their friends to help them. May just be enough to help them at the right time.

We had more, when NHS mental health staff (nurses, OTs, psychologists, doctors) were involved. Apparently when this switched to local authority funding, we became too expensive (not that the Marketeers admit this)
