For a story, I'm looking for people who have tried all kinds of things to treat their (prescription medication, chemical peels, light therapy, changing diet, etc etc). DM me if that's you and you're open to an interview.

Fascinating research by **food studies scholar and chef Sarah Kay** on how Mexican and Chinese restaurants more likely to be reviewed for authenticity, and how the search for authenticity reveals hidden codes of racism in the world of food consumption.

Zuckerberg Hospital, which is named after the Facebook founder, has the most exploitive billing experts have been able to find. They refuse almost all insurance, leaving vulnerable people to pay 5 and 6 figure bills, even though they are insured.

It's only the second day of 2019, and I already sent a fully formed pitch (with name and outlet of the intended recipient) to the wrong editor at a different outlet! 🤦🏽‍♀️

I've watched the first episode of the Marie Kondo show -- the one where the guy angrily demands that his part-time working wife, who raises their two toddlers alone, do more laundry -- and clearly, KonMari doesn't work, because by the end of the episode he's still there

THREAD: For many years, I believed Africa probably had the world's highest murder rates. Or maybe the Mideast. But that simply isn't so (the Mideast is actually remarkably peaceful in terms of criminal violence). The region with by far the highest homicide tally is Latin America.

Where we are at now: Alex was here in U.S. legally, claiming asylum. He was in high school and was never in trouble. Then he doodled a drawing of a devil, his school’s mascot. His school labeled him a gang member, ICE arrested him, and he was deported.

Remember when people were all upset about the idea of protesting at folks' houses? As I said then, it's a very old tactic and not a bad one. Here, activists projected text and a picture of Jakelin Caal onto the home of CBP's Commissioner Kevin McAleenan. (Photo: CREDO Action)

pro tip: dont let an employer ever tell you your workplace is a "family," that rhetoric just makes it easier for them to take advantage of you when they need to
