I think surgical training has two overarching objectives. 1. Skills of the surgeon as you ascend Miller’s pyramid. 2. Development of the person into ‘is’.... which sits at the top of the pyramid. Interesting article here on

Can we officially retire the phrase “fake news” please. There is no such thing. Instead can we use the appropriate terms: - propaganda - conspiracy theories - lies - out of context or misrepresented information - journalistic errors

Pretty comprehensive. I also feel conducting biomedical research and developing ability to critically analyse the same conducted by self and others should be an integral part of surgical training. So is enhancing communication skills (with pts & colleagues both)

In my opinion, excellent program graduates excellent learners no matter how they start at the beginning. Flexibility to cater to the need of each individual learner is key. Yet, training systems are different globally, so this could be a challenge
