I recommend reading novel The Trespassers which examines this, amongst other unwittingly prescient takes on pandemics and those escaping them. Chilling stuff. We want people to come out of prison healthy and connected to community. Same for quarantine, surely.

Someone leaked from the caucus room before the leadership result was announced. Not a tight ship.

Thank you. But it also speaks to what people now believe technology is capable of. A magic password that only works for good. A magic eraser that only removes bad words and thoughts. It's a matter for the people, a matter of integrity.

Although caucus rankings don’t necessarily equal list placings and Nats are v disorganised about getting all their candidates sorted...

If Muller needs legal advice to know what to do about a major ethical breach by one of his team then that’s a failure of his leadership. He can say “that’s not ok” without a legal worry.

I don’t understand why you need legal advice to make a decision that is about political leadership and ethics.

My latest piece is about the shitshow that went down in Bethel, Ohio — but it's also about the stories that white residents of very white towns tell themselves about the existence of racism in those towns:

And if the Govt does fail then likely the election will need to be delayed and their lack of readiness won’t matter so much.

What do you think about the Greens approach? They genuinely try, and mostly succeed I think, To not behave that way eg don’t heckle or interject in QT. Things have improved w more women in the House too. Long way to go though.
