Yes.
To win w/o SDs, he needs 50%+1 of the pledged delegates. But with so many candidates Bernie can win a state, getting the plurality of delegates but not the majority of them.
Then we have a contested convention, w Bernie leading the pack.
That'd get ugly.

Sort of the modern day Ralph Nader. It's not obvious at first, but it's about Sanders's own vanity and ego, because it's an unrealistic gamble that, if nominated Sanders would beat Trump. Essentially holding DNC hostage.
