Message for Boris: I’m mostly off-radar right now, supporting a relative in the High Dependency Unit of my (brilliant) local hospital. He’s had a rough ride but is on the mend. And I know it’s very un-English and impolite to mix the personal..1./

In 27 years in Parliament I questioned and scrutinised 10 Foreign Secretaries. Johnson was by far the worst informed, the most casual, the most disinterested, and the most embarrassing. Yet over 100 Tory MPs want this man to be our Prime Minister. He is unfit for the role.

Can spend weeks in the office & not get out on site. Over the last week I've visited Black Loch of Myrton, , Dumbarton Castl for Rock of Ages, Trinity House, & now I'm at Glasgow Cathedral for a salvage planning meeting. Phew!

Well done to those who said it is for pee. It's a urinal (also known as a piss pot). It was a handy receptacle for a gentleman to save him the walk to the draughty latrines on a cold winter's night. (Thanks Callum for the wonderful description!)
