    Schreier does good work and there's some important information in this article, but I don't understand why we're cool with the game announcement leaks. It's so disrespectful to the devs working on the game. I know it's really on the leaker but still. This shouldn't be okay imo.

    If you simply can't afford this rate and the person still wants to do the work because they want anything they can get then okay. Every situation can be different. But if things pick up for you later you should be thinking about making that right imo.

    No hate or shame if you've paid less than this in the past out of ignorance. I might have too when I was first starting out. Every single person I have worked with has undersold themselves at the first stage of negotiations. So hopefully this helps a little at setting a baseline.

    If you commission someone to help you with a youtube video type thing the absolute lowest of the low "I am sorry I am paying you this low" amount should 25 USD an hour. I try to pay 50 an hour, or a reasonable equivalent of the work isn't hourly rated.
