Definitely complicated from a marketing perspective. But with all its data, plenty of foresight that News Feed would decline eventually, and it promising higher costs of feed revenue since 2017, seems like it should have gotten more oomph that last 3 years

8yrs ago (!) I imagined Facebook could show fewer ads in app by monetizing more via Audience Network. Now it needs revenue without moderation costs more than ever

Yep, their downloads slowed recently, and Triller is growing faster as I explain in the piece. But their active user share is still much higher than all else beyond TikTok

It's wildly uncommon in social. Even Snapchat had only lost 5M users before the Snapback. Dubsmash had lost the vast majority. Fun to do their first interview in 3 years
