Fearing an imminent revolt in Catalonia, Spain is flooding Catalonia with Paramilitary troops. Like a colony. European Union keeps shamefully silent

They aren't 'paramilitary troops'. The Civil Guard riot police are just 'troops'. Soldiers. The Civil Guard is a military force that performs police duties. The National Police UIP are militarised police. The two forces have nearly 7K officers permanently stationed in Catalonia.

The Civil Guard is run by Defence & Interior. When people talk about Spain 'sending in the army' they're perpetuating the myth that there is no Spanish military presence in Catalonia. What's coming is just more army to add to what's already here.

Spanish police in Spain, I don't see the problem. And they're here because the announcement of riots and violent actions by the (self-acclaimed Catalan militia) I feel safer now in Catalonia.

Nobody announced violent actions, do not lie. They will be actions, protests and any other initiatives against the abuses by the Spanish state in Catalonia. If there is injustice, then protest is a right, even an obligation
