My first job out of college was in 's press office. Apart from his questionable taste in sneakers & his coffee stained ties, I saw up close what it's like to actually be good & decent, as both a Senator & a human. We are lucky to have his voice in this conversation.

I don’t know, I think it’s more far-fetched to withhold paychecks from 800,000 Americans over $5 billion in steel slats that you didn’t seem to care about when you voted 100-0 to fund the government in December.

McConnell wants to do everything he can to avoid a shred of accountability for the shutdown. But the truth is that he could end it at any moment. And if he thinks his GOP majority or his own seat are imperiled, he will. So, imperil them.

Of course he made mistakes. Of course it’s entirely fair and legitimate to criticize any number of his decisions for not being progressive enough (I did an entire series that examined this). But it’s not accurate to present those criticisms as widely held beliefs.

A hostile foreign leader who directed an attack on our election regularly has secret conservations with the candidate he helped win. I don’t know how much more we need Mueller to reveal here.

Explaining marginal taxes to a far-right former Governor: Imagine if you did chores for abuela & she gave you $10. When you got home, you got to keep it, because it’s only $10. Then we taxed the billionaire in town because he’s making tons of money underpaying the townspeople.
