there's a refrain in some medicine circles (plant medicines, like ayahuasca) that: "all is ceremony"

i'm still tracking down the specific date for one of them, and/but if it's what i think it is, three out of four were actually born within a couple days of each other, at the end of october

ok so i decided to do this today, since it seems pretty low-key, low stakes. and of the four friends i checked, three out of four were all born at the end of october 😱

hehe i am. so actually my friend told me that the way they got into it, is that they started looking at the birthdates of their friends, partners, lovers. and when they did so they noticed that all their partners (for example) were the same sign.

And then experimentally, when I'm tying myself up in knots, wondering why I can't trust myself, or what I should do next, or what self trust means in the context of a decision I'm trying to make .... when I then try to invoke self love, something simplifies, shifts, or changes.

This was an important puzzle piece for me. Trying to make sense of self trust as a rational process (what do I trust? why do I trust? ...) versus something more like, "I just trust"

I think probably obvious, but there was a typo above. "Self trust is a branch on the tree of self love"

I’ve been curious and mystified by this as well. If you ask the right hippies about this it’s a no brainer thing to them. They’ll tell you that there’s something “in the air”, synchronously affecting a lot of people

This is important because if you’re doing a transformative practice, like meditation, or bio emotive, I think one of the things that you’re ultimately gunning for is surprises. And so how we relate to ourselves, and our capacity to be surprised by ourselves, is really important

The kinda sorta opposite of "letting ourselves be surprised by" is "controlling. As in, if were not letting a thing surprise us, we're probably exerting subtle or not so subtle control over it, trying to manage it, keep it a certain way.

Yes! And also I’d add: “do you let yourself surprise you?”
