Unless it’s actually life or death I would stand the risk yourself. In my experience students aren’t as reckless as we (and insurers) might think and you’ll end up better off.

Richard Benneworth’s Renault 11 TXE Electronic at the splendid Festival of the Unexceptional yesterday reminded me that it wasn’t just MG Maestros that had talking dashboards back in the 80s. This one sounds rather nervous.

So-called emissions standards checkers operated by the likes of & are hit and miss. Just approximations based on a car’s age. I’ve “checked” three Euro 4 petrols & they’ve come up as Euro 3. TFL ULEZ Checker is better

No, it was a quick visit to take a look. Mac OS is an advantage but personally, on balance, I’d go for the HP.

In the final episode of this series of 7pm C5 I drive the latest Nissan Leaf to Rutland. Seen here in Barrowden outside the very agreeable Exeter Arms

A gadget which unfortunately didn't make it into the current series of The Gadget Show, concluding 7pm Friday on C5, is this splendid BH51M bike helmet. It has speakers for your phone and music, and indicators linked to a Bluetooth handlebar switch.

They were Q Acoustics Q7000ST stands. (The stands we were intending to use were delayed in transit). We had to adapt the top mount to fit so they are probably not ideal.

Really enjoyed Tacita Dean Portrait films though found some out of focus. Does anyone know whether this is the deliberate intent of the artist or just vintage 16mm projection equipment needing adjustment at the end of a long exhibition? (It closes tomorrow.)

If built in sound and smart TV features are priorities go with the LG. If slightly better picture quality is most important go with the Sony. I think I’d probably choose the Sony.

Yes. I have a soft spot for chain drive Frazer -Nashes. Also sampled a Silver Ghost once and was pleasantly surprised. It felt like a very well engineered Ford Transit.
