Oh, the hate exists, and I left for 16 years for a reason and wasn't excited to move back, BUT it is a great place to live and we're not moving. It's got it's problems (sprawl, excess water, summers, August, August), but so does everywhere else.

And for regular Vietnamese, Huynh is the best. Izakaya for non-susha Japanese, Pass & Provisions for excellent fare all around, Petrol Station for beerz and pub grub. . .

If you're willing to make the trek, THE place for viet-cajun is Crawfish & Noodles. If you want some legit Indian food, there's The Great W'Kana and Govinda. First two are a LONG drive from IAH...Hughies isn't too far though and neither is Govinda.
