Here's another iPad Pro prototype! 😀 This time I'm using the Apple Pencil for text selection + copy & paste in a Markdown editor 📝 I really love the idea of using the pencil as a dedicated pointing device - it adds a whole new layer of possible interactions 👍

As long as I can still podcast, blog & share my work with the community, then I’d be happy to do it 😊 Thanks buddy 🙌

What about palm detection? Do you have to always hold the pencil with your hand not touching the iPad? I’m thinking this would be great if it was the same position as when I’m writing and editing on a pad of paper.

They're 🍣 socks from Medicine - which is one of my favorite clothing brands here in 🇵🇱 (especially for socks, which, let's face it - is the most important piece of clothing 😅). Not sure if they ship abroad, but I can also recommend Happy Socks from 🇸🇪:

iOS lets you differentiate between touch input and pencil input (which is what I use to allow the pencil to select text without causing scrolling), so I don't need to do any sort of palm detection - the system handles all that stuff for me 🙂

Does pushing and holding on the spacebar turn it into a “trackpad” on the iPad Pro? It does on iPhone, kind of...

Looks great but this basically means when typing that text everytime I want to select something I have to pickup my pencil? Don’t get me wrong I think that’s awesome work, but is this convenient?

This is the exact type of thing that I think makes the pencil a great mouse replacement for the iPad if we had more features like this for it built it! Awesome!
