A magnificent effort to raise £120,000 by the reds who boycotted the PPV & the blues who donated to the cause. We came together collectively to fight food poverty & the damage it wreaks. Thank you from all at

Interesting report from ⁦⁩ on new nuclear arms ban treaty. Covid and climate change have been obvious priorities but it’s reassuring that the work to remove the threat of nuclear weapons continues apace.

So the government’s excuse for Sunak breaking the rules to host meeting at a restaurant is that it wasn’t a “functioning” restaurant. Surely the real reason is that we haven’t got a functioning government or chancellor.

I’m signing off with a feeling a pride tonight. The superstars of this nation lie in local communities. Even after taking the biggest hits you have wrapped your arms around your community to catch children as they fell. I really can’t thank you enough, you’re amazing ♥️

After Boris Johnson’s lies and attack on Sadiq, this clip from last night’s sets the record straight. 👇🏽 The deficit when Boris Johnson left office in 2016 was £1.5bn.🛑 By April 2020, had brought it down to £400m. ✅

This is Johnson’s own Tory controlled council where his constituency is located breaking ranks. This is a amazing snub to Johnson. Come on Johnson, for the children’s sake, get with the programme.

In his dignified, determined way has tapped into the decency and generosity of the UK people. Kids will remember this amazing young man and the councils stepping up to feed them this winter. They'll also remember who failed them .

“ For the sake of accuracy and complete clarity my name is IAN LAVERY the Labour MP for Wansbeck & last night I voted FOR the extension of Free School Meals It was IAN LEVY the Tory MP for Blyth Valley that voted AGAINST feeding the kids” Hope this helps 😱

This sums up precisely why Unite’s members at Heathrow are balloting for industrial action. People here are angry at the way they have been treated by the company when the workers have offered a way forward involving making sacrifices themselves.

This government is degenerating into daily chaos. In one fell swoop predictably Sunak has been forced to drop his Winter plan he was boasting about days ago, u turns, divides the country & alienates everything beyond the M25 whilst backing plan to force Sadiq Khan increase fares.

There are lows in politics but not many as bad as watching Tories trying to justify voting to let kids go hungry this winter.

Tories are trying to sneak through cuts in severance pay or pension paid to workers aged 55 or above made redundant. Paul Holmes, the candidate for Unison general secretary, has launched a campaign to block these cuts. In support I’ve tabled EDM1044 in Parliament.

We did everything that the Prime Minister asked of us. We avoided public transport to keep London safe. Now he thinks we should pay for this crisis. It’s text book Tory - make ordinary working people pay for a crisis we didn’t cause. I’m glad has said no.
