The interesting context to these questions is that Google replacing all their previous generations database backend with Spanner-class backend storage. (Firestore)

By what means Aurora is ahead? I didn’t check the second Aurora paper but they even couldn’t scale horizontally a while ago. Not talking about distributed cross shard transactions.

Almost all frontenders I have seen IML converge to wanting the ultimate single API that always returns them everything they instantly want. I rather think it is dictated by the unprofessionalism and naiviness. Hence now I know why the GraphQL is spreading like a cancer.
