The fear with that approach is of course that one ends up giving each scholarly camp too little of what they want or expect but i hope there are some useful connections and directions at least

I tried to write about Vajrayana for anthropologists who had never heard of it (few anthropologists I meet have any general exposure to tantric traditions AS tantric traditions) while also speaking to less comparative, more narrowly focused Tantra/Tibetan/Buddhist Studies too

I hope you found there was adequate context in the thesis itself for the myriad esoteric things I touched on all too briefly!

If peer reviewed work published by a major academic press is, as Kingsepp claims, using a fictional role playing game manual unironically as a source of information about actual Tibet-Germany political history I would be very worried!

The Trimondis have virtually zero scholarly credibility in Tibetan Studies. To see them foregrounded as a credible source in the book alarms me.

I find this fact/sourcing checking critique and review of ‘Hitler Monster’s’ by Dr Eva Kingsepp quite concerning as a Tibetan and Esotericism Studies scholar. Serious implications re peer review here. Has any response been issued?

I don’t talk that directly about the pizza effect, which was a term invented by a Tantra scholar to discuss the globalization of yoga, in the dissertation but do offer more thoughts on it in this older piece on singing bowls:

It’s a lovely quote, but doesn’t seem too well-known! I made sure to do my own translation and find a way to include it for that reason!

Is this really the simplest/only way to render the pdf if using a phone or tablet? It seems very user unfriendly, especially considering that it seems like more people read ebooks on their phones and tablets than on PCs or laptops these days!

You’d think the first priority would be to make the file easily accessible on a phone. Ridiculous!
