Does your tech strategy for the cloud include a Windows MFC desktop application for data wrangling?
Consider revisiting that idea. twitter.com/Trifacta/statu…

Good find Ill take a look. We’re definitely having conversations about how things are changing in the cloud, and they’ll pick up over the semester

This is a great #VLDB20 paper from @xexd. It breaks down and evaluates all the tricks from the last decade for in-memory concurrency control research. twitter.com/pvldb/status/1…

Simply put, bad data = bad business decisions. @techrepublic highlights key takeaways from our 'Obstacles to AI & Analytics Adoption in the Cloud' report and how we quantified the impact bad #data has on business. tek.io/2O4oR5y

Daily reminder for anyone who wants to become a Software Engineer:
You may need a college degree... but don't let ANYONE tell you that you need to attend a bootcamp.
Don't let the marketing get to you, all the info is free or the price of books/courses.

Returning to my original point, kudos to the Gamma folks for doing shared nothing parallel data processing and 6 other things on flaky HW and a custom OS in the late 1980s! They deserve a ton of credit. (As do Tandem and Teradata and others of that era.)

Why this topic, this era, this transition point in computing history? A bunch of factors at play. And like all of computing history the overlap between science and commerce is in shades of gray.
