No. Don’t think that would match our goals very well.

Let me which country and we’ll prioritize it more than we did before. We want to own everything. If you want to help, give us feedback or apply to one of our jobs!

Only local event is seeing me being lazy at the gym ;-) We don’t plan to do any public events in one particular place ourselves for the foreseeable future. If anything, it’d be - drumroll - Remote!

Germany is the only of those that we’re working on at the moment. You need to have an address where a local representative works..so that’s what we got! Germany had other challenges though.. still working on those :)

Even running I can't escape timezones, meaning I still have to go sleep now, as at 6am sharp my 18mo daughter wakes up - she doesn't care whether tweeted about her dads company.

Absolutely. I don't think Boundless or Remote will 'win' anything from each other. Rather, this is becoming a very massive market where almost every (knowledge worker) company will need to address this somehow. We both try to make that fair, painless, and affordable.

The company comes to us wanting to either convert a contractor to employee, or with a new hire to employ. We don't 'supply' the people. We just focus on solving the employment bit.

We can employ almost anyone that lives legally in a country we support. There are exceptions, such as visa sponsorships, which we don't support yet.

We are the employer, so we handle all taxes. (now, how we are taxed is actually a giant complex thing, but as the employer or employee, you don't see or feel this)

We don't. We spend upwards of 100k USD per country to just figure out if we can legally operate there. We wouldn't be able to do this for very long if we didn't do it _really_ well.

We don't partner with external employer of record. We see that this doesn't work well in terms of flexibility, speed, cost and reliability.

Really appealing pitch from . Allowing US companies to hire internationally where the remote workers become full local employees, but the US company just pays a direct invoice. I like it (even if its pretty pricey!).

We are liable, in the end. Obviously there is more to it than just that, but if actual employer doesn't pay, we have to solve the situation somehow.

We need to figure out exceptions country by country, and then try to work out a way to make this easy to deal with for the employer. You'd be surprised how many strange rules exist across countries. Extra 1-2 month(s) of pay is common.
