Let’s be clear. Experts on epigenetics I’ve spoken w are extremely skeptical about causal link between epigenetic marks that correlate w chronological age and the aging process, such that aging could be reversed. Look for the scientific literature, not @WSJopinion for answers. twitter.com/davidasinclair…

How secure do you think the emerging literature is on the multigenerational inheritance of environmentally mediated events or characteristics ?

Hard to say- there are so many reports, with widely varying methods and claims. I suspect some of it is right, lots not.

Funny that you would make an appeal to authority to arguably the biggest authority in the field. Half the scientific literature you refer to came from his team.

Agree - age associated methylation marks likely are readouts for gene expression- and as such non causal markers - modifying methylation back to a “younger” state might even do harm, as it reverses what the body might need when it ages.

Do you have a recommendation of something to read in this vein? I don't really understand the criticism as you've formulated it. Acetylation, either by programming or entropy, leading to aging phenotypes seems well supported?

guy is talking his book and has plenty of conflict of interest. One thing i learn from l'affaire WeWork is that being super duper optimistic abt future usually pays off handsomely. One needs to be real lucky to rake off 1B$ like Adam Neumann but otherwise than that it still pays
