A good reminder that the vote to impeach would have been bipartisan but for the expulsion of Rep. Amish from the GOP for heresy against the president.

Trump was asked about her comment specifically and directly rejected it *before she cast her vote*.

Asked Kevin McCarthy about Trump apparently questioning Romney's faith, McCarthy said: "I never heard the president use the word Romney at the prayer breakfast." Asked if he really didn't believe he was going after Romney: "I don't know, but I never heard him say Romney."

This is why heads were put on pikes, not just as punishment, but as warnings to everybody else.

CLINTON in 1999 after being acquitted: "I want to say again to the American people how profoundly sorry I am for what I said and did to trigger these events..." TRUMP today after being acquitted: "We went through hell, unfairly, did nothing wrong, did nothing wrong..."

So Tim Scott has consistently said the call was *not* perfect.

Daines on Trump's Romney comments this morning "It's clear the president feels very strong about this and that was reflected in his comments today. He felt deeply hurt by what happened." When asked by if he disagrees, he said "He can just say what he wants"

"[Trump is] impeached forever, no matter what he says... And history will always record that you were impeached for undermining the security of our country, jeopardizing the integrity of our elections, and violating the Constitution." —

YOVANOVITCH has written an op-ed describing her impeachment experience in the face of “malicious conspiracies” about her. “This administration, through acts of omission and commission, has undermined our democratic institutions,” she writes.

The first president to be impeached with the majority of the country supporting his impeachment. The first president to have a bipartisan vote to convict in the Senate. No sense of duty to the American people whatsoever.

The most pathetic moment of this process was when Schiff read a news report about “heads on pikes”—sympathetically to Republicans who might go against their party, I might add—and all the Republicans pretended to be aghast. More condemnation for that than anything Trump’s done.

There’s no exoneration without a real trial, and there’s no exoneration when the defendant has promised to put every juror’s head on a pike if they convict.

All you had to do was watch Romney’s speech and compare it to all the others. One was simple, cogent, moral—all the others were utter gibberish, suspending disbelief based solely on the repetition from everybody else.

Bro. We’ve literally been passing Infrastructure bills over in the House and your guy, our President, hasn’t been able to come to the table w/ Senate to offer pay for solutions. Ready and willing... where’s that 2 trillion promised a year ago? We can’t afford to wait.
