🚨 We are hiring a Software Engineering Manager in London! Help us build #SwiftNIO & other mostly OSS software for Swift on Server. I’m biased of course but this is a really cool gig. DMs are open for questions too.

I'd be more concerned if a new framework appeared out of nowhere with a bunch of fresh unaudited crypto code written in Swift tbh

Most of my Apple II cracks are 100% automated — a longtime dream of mine, now largely realized. But this has caused a wonderful new "problem": long-form crack write-ups are getting lost in the firehose.
A thread to highlight the #BestOf4am

I don't know to what extent CryptoKit and swift-crypto actually share source code. The core parts of both have source available for auditing, though.

Clang likely has the same issues as Swift if you compile with -fmodules (which Swift always does when importing C/ObjC code)

swift-crypto is open source: github.com/apple/swift-cr…
Independently, Apple makes its security source code available for independent analysis: developer.apple.com/security/

In particular, it doesn't seem out of the question that someone would want to conditionally forward, like `if x { yield &foo } else { yield &bar }`, and it'd be a shame to have to fall back to an explicit set of accessors to do that

My thinking would be that constraining the alias to a single expression doesn't really constrain expressivity, since you can do pretty much anything in that expression, but it'd in turn make things that require multi-statement bodies to represent more awkward to express
