Memorial Bridge is under a 10 ton load restriction because of the extensive corrosion to support beams that’s currently under repair. One M1 Abrams is more than six times that weight!

how perfect of a metaphor would it be if Trump forced a tank to parade over that bridge, which will almost certainly collapse and drown its occupants followed by Trump blaming democrats somehow, all to fuel his ego?

If a tank fell into the river, would they be able to rescue the crew? Are tanks watertight and equipped with some kind of reserve air supply?

Well, instead of just "rehabilitating" the bridge, it looks they may end up building a whole new one as the old goes crashing into the Potomac under the weight of Trump's enormous neediness.

He doesn’t need to check the weight or have the bridge reinforced. He trusts his gut and his gut says I want my toys

All that has to be done between now and July 4 is to hire a reasonable facsimile of Fred McMurray, load his pockets with “flubber”, place him inside the tank as it approaches the bridge and let aerodynamics take over. It is really quite simple!

Finally, infrastructure day (July 3, 2019) comes to Washington DC so they can fix the bridge!
