I guess sometimes it’s a meltdown and other times it’s just arguing a strike 🤷🏻‍♂️

Y’all can get mad in my mentions all you want. There’s a clear double standard in the way we talk about behavior in sports. It’s routine for a man to argue calls, but when a woman does it, it’s the “mother of all meltdowns.”

And if you think a male athlete would ever be accused of having the “mother of all meltdowns” for calling an umpire a “thief,” you’re just lying to yourself. The bar for acceptable behavior from male athletes is about a mile lower than that.

They also called it an "angry tirade" and they've also referred to male tennis player reactions as "meltdowns." There's enough actual stuff to be mad about dude. No need to invent more.

And what Serena did is significantly more tame than either of those. No male athlete is getting accused of having the “mother of all meltdowns” for calling an umpire a thief and smashing a racquet.

Incredible interview. Incredible woman. . I’ve played tennis since I was 8 and never ever seen this treatment on men’s tour, ever! There is a clear difference on how women are judged and treated. for life!

Someone at the NYPost gets real triggered at a woman defending herself.

This is truly sad. Which is exactly the point Serena made.
