Just shared this update with our whole staff. In times like these, businesses need to be the ones that give, not take - especially for employees with kids at home. As school/daycare closes, companies need to relax expectations and be extra accommodating. See image.

I also understand not every business is in a position to do this. And clearly many in the arts, restaurant, and in-person service industry are in deep trouble at the moment. Only sharing an example of one approach and hoping others that can follow, will follow.

😢 Man, the way you guys treat people just hits in the feels. THIS is why it's important to build a profitable business, Basecamp couldn't afford to do this without the years of profitable operation that's given them the ability to weather terrible storms with such compassion.

It's not just parents though, everyone has anxiety around these times of uncertainty - real or perceived.

Love this. We use Basecamp as well and are working to leverage it better as our team moves to remote work during this season. Curious - as we look to your example of communication, I’ve not seen “Topics” in our company’s HQ. Is that something we need to enable? cc:

Topics is “Message Board”. You can rename the tools anything you’d like.
