I couldn’t get Vite or snowpack to work on an existing project. I really really wanted to. Maybe on a new project I’d go for it, but right now it’s too difficult to find ES module alts for certain packages. The community isn’t there yet. Maybe next year will try again

TIL you can setup to autolink text references with a prefix of your choice to external URLs (e.g. Clubhouse, Jira, Trello etc.)

We stopped breathing in production like 4 years ago. It doesn’t scale well.

We are talking past each other. There is no need for a redirect / cookie-based preview mode when you are doing regular ssr. You can just write code so that /post/1234?revision=abcd, fetches abcd and be done.

The preview mode is only useful for static sites

Yeah that’s why I don’t understand why it is considered it a workaround. It’s not the same thing

Oh nvm i see it only works with getServerSideProps. But this is actually useless though? If you’re going to make a request anyways you don’t need a cookie or a redirect. You can just pluck preview data out of the url via query string directly

But then I still need to trigger a rebuild via deploy hook? Correct?

So let me get this straight, basically you rewrite a getStaticProps for getSeverSideProps for the preview route?

Aside from Vercel, does any other serverless provider/tool (ie. amplify, cloudflare workers, netlify, etc.) support Next.js Preview Mode?
