Kubernetes has been GA on GCP so long I tend to take for granted all the benefits of GKE: fully managed control plane, nodes, and automated upgrades. RBAC and IAM integration. Metrics, logging, and auditing out of the box. All embedded in a clean UI.

Google Kubernetes Engine now supports Kubernetes 1.10.2 and has promoted Alias IPs (pod native firewall rules, routing, and support for BGP) to GA. This is extra dope!

Thanks for reporting this! Please file a bug with more details on what happened. Deployment only controls the prefix of a pod's name. The suffix should be a random string generated by k8s.
