Goal is to help them feel confident enough to join in the existing local community that includes several biweekly uke jams. It’s why I started offering the classes. Yes, some do go to those. And I offer subsequent open playalong sessions. Next: songs about space.

I offer free "intro to uke" classes at my local library. Always get a full house made up largely of people age 70+ who are worried about their brain health, focus, memory, etc. They are very motivated SELF DIRECTED LEARNERS. And they are LEARNERS - not 'workers'.

What researchers are you referring to? I don’t recall seeing any quotes about “artificial teachers” anywhere and would like to read more. Please direct me to your references- thanks. Jill Watson only served as TA, not teacher, mostly answering routine administrative questions.

Danger here, too, with false distinctions & unfair comparisons. Like days when "research" compared 25 bad text-heavy slides with a next button to an active, engaging human teacher and proclaimed elearning 'inferior'. Quality of the chatbot matters. See Jill Watson.

There's research on Jill Watson: AI students didn't realize she was a chatbot for months. Students preferred her to human TAs because she doesn't get snippy. Wanted to nominate her for TA of the year award.
